Rita Burch, BSW, MBA, CFRE is co-founder of The Watchman™ Program and President of Optimum Hospice Solutions, a health care consulting firm. She has served as Executive Director for Hospice of Rutherford County since 1988. She transformed this formerly fledgling volunteer agency with a $69,000 budget into a well-respected health care organization with assets of six million dollars. Under her direction, the agency holds several benchmarks in the Carolinas. She developed seven community-funded programs and services to meet identified needs in her community. Rita has consulted with both urban and rural hospices. Her expertise lies in operational cost reduction, feasibility studies, strategic audits, volunteer cost savings strategies, and program development. She has spoken at the state and national level. Optimum Hospice Solutions has clients from Washington state to Chicago to Wilmington, North Carolina.
Heidi Owen, BA, MBA, CFRE: co-founder of The Watchman™ Program and Vice President of Optimum Hospice Solutions, has worked with Hospice of Rutherford County since 1994 as Director of Development, Capital Campaign Director, and most recently as Director of Support Services. Heidi has served as a consultant for a variety of for profit and nonprofit organizations including hospices, mental health and human service organizations, colleges, and religious ministries. She has extensive experience with all phases of capital campaign organization, marketing, volunteer management, development of various publications, grant writing, feasibility studies, and organizational strategies.
